Hazel White is Director of the Master of Design for Services Programme at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design at the University of Dundee. This innovative programme reflects the change in both design and society from  production of goods for consumption to the development of ideas for living.

Graduates learn together in a studio setting applying design thinking, methods and strategies to real world problems.

Hazel runs the following modules (courses):

Strategic Information Design: taken by Master of Design and MSc Design Ethnography students, exploring methods of using information and data to tell stories to aid decision-making.

Design Practice and Realisation and Communication, semester 2 and 3 modules where students develop their individual Masters projects.





She is supervisor to PhD candidate Jo Hodge (Textiles and Technology) and to Level 3 and 4 undergraduate design Dissertation students.

She also delivers occasional lectures to Level 3 and 4 Human Computer Interaction (HCI) in the School of Computing.

Hazel was a faculty member in the Design Schools at Sheffield Hallam University (1995-2004) and Kookmin University, Seoul, South Korea (1997-98), and has given visiting lectures at Carnegie Mellon University, USA, Seoul National University, s. Korea, Hiko Mizuno, Tokyo and exhibited and presented papers internationally.
